Description:
Kwanzaa is a secular holiday that’s based on the start of the harvest season in Africa, and it’s observed by millions of people in the United States. The name Kwanzaa comes from the words matunda ya kwanza, which means “first fruit” in Swahili, referring to the first crops of the harvest.
Visit the Children’s section at the Atrium to make crafts to celebrate the first day of Kwanzaa! Drop by, no registration necessary. Crafts are available while supplies last. Best for school aged children, but all youth are welcome.
