Description:
Rekindle is a Black Jewish initiative whose goal is to reestablish the allyship that once existed between these two communities. Commemorating Juneteenth is their first community event. Please join us for an opportunity to celebrate the late but elated time when Blacks in Galveston, Texas were told of their freedom. It was a year plus late but still sweet. We plan to commemorate that day with an evening of African drumming, gospel music and spoken word. Light kosher soul refreshments will be served.
