Description:
Join us for Other Side, a powerful documentary that follows the journey of Connecticut’s own Lynda Bluestein, a lifelong activist who, facing a terminal cancer diagnosis, sought access to medical aid in dying.

Premiering to sold-out crowds at the SXSW film festival, this film raises essential questions about access, autonomy, and what it means to receive compassionate support at the end of life.

Medical aid in dying is currently authorized for terminally ill adults in 13 different U.S. jurisdictions. This end-of-life option is supported by more than 75% of Connecticut voters. In the filmmaker’s words: “Death is inevitable. Suffering may be optional.”

The film is 90 minutes in length and will include resources for participants. After the film, Compassion & Choices will be available for Q&A.
