Research shows that music enhances phonological awareness, vocabulary acquisition, and motor skills\u2014all necessary for reading and writing. The patterns, rhymes, and rhythms of songs are a natural way for children to practice literacy skills. For example, children connect with language by clapping to the beat or predicting rhyming words\u200b. And have you noticed that it&#8217;s easier to remember the words and tunes of songs than to memorize text? Retention is an essential key to literacy.<\/p>\n<p>So let&#8217;s have fun singing and dancing and practicing early literacy skills!<\/p>\n<p>Registration is appreciated, but not required.
