Description:
Whether you are a planner or a procrastinator, having a strong and up-to-date estate plan should be at the top of your to-do list. In addition to providing peace of mind that your final wishes will be legally documented, an estate plan is a roadmap for your loved ones in case you are no longer able to care for yourself and/or your financial and legal affairs.
In this session, you’ll learn about important estate planning documents like wills, powers of attorney, advance directives, trusts, and the purpose and powers of each. We’ll examine what happens if you don’t have a will when you pass away, how your estate gets divided among your heirs, who can pay your bills if you can’t, how to choose your power of attorney and healthcare agents, and some common mistakes to avoid. Even if you already have an estate plan, find out if you should have your documents reviewed and updated.
