All people, regardless of their gender, race, and sexual orientation, have a right to equal access to education, healthcare, and voting rights. In the last 400 years, Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame inductees have fought discrimination and persevered to reduce the societal disparities felt amongst women, transgender people, immigrants, and people of color. Some of the inductees highlighted are: Maria Miller Stewart, Constance Baker Motley, Ann Stanback, Jerimarie Liesegang, Kica Matos, and Teresa Younger.
